RED CHAMPIONS | NOW DISBANDED.
Redefining elite dressage

APPLICATION PROCESS
In order to join RC, you must fill out our application (linked below). If your application is accepted you will be invited to join our trial club, Red Champions Students (see more info about RCS here). During your time in RCS, you will be able to attend events, dressage lessons, and other activities to improve your dressage skill and bond with your fellow students & cheerios. When we have space in RC (generally once a month) we hand-pick graduating students depending on their dressage skill & effort within their team, if their personality works nicely with the club, if they follow rules, are active, are dedicated, participate, etc.

Before applying, please be educated on our application systems. Below is a list of some commonly asked questions & important information you may want to know before applying. Also be sure to read the blurb of information at the top of the application before beginning to fill out the questions.
Red Champions Students or RCS is the trial club for Red Champions. Rather than joining a waiting list when applications are accepted, the applicant will be able to join RCS. It is owned by a club HighRank, Dusky, under her alternate account Violet Candlewright. RCS is mandatory for everyone whose application was accepted. RCS operates under the same rules as Red Champions and is also split into teams. RCS lessons are held after normal RC lessons as an opportunity for dressage practice and showing the HRs that you are dedicated.
No-- we never have and we likely never will. However, we love scheduling events with other clubs and are quite open to that possibility at any time! If you want to set something up, contact Light through Discord or Instagram!
Chocolate Cucpake.
Red Champions is a Chocolate Cupcake club and only players on that server are eligible for the club. If you are on a different NA server and you want to join, you must switch servers. In the case that we are on a full server, we will usually move to an open one by the end of the month, so you may still apply.
Cheerios of all ranks can and should attend these lessons. They're held from 6:00-7:30 pm eastern time at the Riding Arena daily.
All Cheerios and Students must be active. In Red Champions, this means attending 4+ lessons for at least 30 minutes every week. In Red Champions Students this means attending 3+ lessons a week for at least 15 minutes.

Drama of any kind is not tolerated in RC/RCS. If drama occurs, a HighRank is to be contacted immediately to take care of the situation. After it is resolved, the causer(s) and contributors will be punished according to the severity of the drama; ranging from a warning to a kick from the club or more.
Don't worry, if you still have questions regarding the application process (or anything else relating to the club, for that matter), go to the "Our Family" page and find the question box to send an email directly to the club owner, or click/tap on the speech bubble in the corner to have your question answered by a HighRank. You can also ask a direct question to Light through discord by messaging Queen Light#1435.
Students attend these lessons to get their 3+ credits each week. Mon-Thurs, these lessons alternate between teams, giving individual students 5 lessons they're allowed to attend each week. Cheerios may also attend these if they wish, though only one can count toward their weekly requirement of 4+ credits.
They're held from 7:45-8:45 pm eastern time at the Riding Arena daily.

When an application is accepted, they join RCS ingame and on Discord. When we have space in RC or are looking for more cheerios, we look at the most active & dedicated students and hand-pick who is able to graduate to the official club. Students become cheerios through a full-club event, Student Graduation, which happens once every month.
All cheerios and students are required to purchase the club uniform and horse, and train the horse to level 15 ASAP. (Uniform/horse items and info can be found here.) There is no time constraint, however we ask that it be a priority.

Both cheerios and students have the option to request lessons within their respective discord servers. Lesson time and content is chosen by the participant, and a qualified instructor or other high rank will host the lesson.
These can be used for making up missed lesson content, extra practice on a difficult concept, or expanding on an already mastered concept for fun/a challenge.
There is no definete answer. We usually add cheerios in groups of 5-10 once a month and it can take anywhere from 1-3 months depending on your dressage skill/effort and how much you participate in club lessons/events in general.
Cheerios and students should not only be present for their required amount of lessons each week, but they should be focused and actively participating in the content of the lesson with the goal of learning and improvement.
These are only hosted in RCS. They're a bit like requested lessons, but all details are organized by the host, and a limited number of students are allowed to sign up. They are an hour long and cover only one concept in extreme depth.
These can be suggeseted by students as feedback, or hosted proactively if the high ranks notice many students seem to be struggling on one concept.

Red Champions is looking for active, dedicated members who are passionate about dressage or want to learn it. Our level requirement is level 18 and above, and because of our arena locations, only star riders will be accepted. Lifetime is preffered but not required. We also recommend you have at least one of the club horses (white, black, or jet black friesian/sporthorse) before joining. The club uses Discord, so you must have it in order to join.
Logistically, you need to meet all of our requirements and should be mature and able to follow all of our rules.
We host around 4-6 events each month. Some are for both RC and RCS to attend, and some are for only RC or only RCS. These can be things from trail rides or photoshoots to game days both on- and offline, and even movie nights.
There are a few events that repeat every month, such as Student Graduation, Club Meetings (see the "Other" category), and the Icebreaker Event. Others are added to calendars randomly to spice up our activities and spend time together outside of dressage!
After applying to the club, your application will be looked over by the High Ranks (HRs), and your results will be decided. Acceptances are generally sent out 1-2 days after applications close or on the 14th of each month. Note that we do not send out notes to those who have been rejected. Stay updated to the specific time that acceptances are sent out, and any date changes, on our open discord server.
Cheerios are expected to act with a certain level of maturity, especially during dressage and club meetings. They should constantly follow all of our rules. There is a time and place for everything.

Adventures are specialized events that can be hosted by anyone, not just a high rank. 2 Adventures are hosted each month by skilled cheerios and students, and both cheerios and students are able to attend.
While events explore mostly games, adventures explore things inside SSO that we wouldn't otherwise, such as other disciplines, climbing, photography, exploration, etc.!
All cheerios and students should be respected, regardless of gender, sexuality, age, race, rank, previous clubs, and any other defining characteristics.

-Do you participate fully in every activity?
-Are you social and trying to connect with the current cheerios/students?
-How well do you execute dressage?
-How quickly do you learn and adapt to our style of dressage? Are you making an effort to learn it properly?
-How did you respond to critique during dressage?
-Do you come to lessons a few minutes early and mute yourself when asked?
-Are you mature and friendly with everyone?
-Are you a dedicated member of the club?
Quite simply: be honest.
RC is almost always working on a competition routine. We tend to compete every 1-2 months, and you'll always be able to find our routines posted on our YouTube channel.
Quite simply: be honest.
Common reasons for applications to be rejected include:
-Time and effort were clearly not spent filling out the application
-Explanations/information given is too short or gramatically incorrect to the point of not being able to understand the content
-The applicant failed to list their Discord name & tag; this is usually when they can't get Discord
-The applicant's schedule was too busy to fit with club lesson times and/or too unpredictable
-The applicant did not meet all of our requirements.
-The applicant was removed from their past club for causing major drama and may have ended up being a toxic cheerio
-The applicant does not agree to the conditions listed in the last section.
Cursing is strictly prohibited in RC. Nobody, of any rank, is allowed an exception as many swear words are offensive, and communication can still be achieved without the use of them. Within RC/RCS there are specific channels where this rule doesn't apply as long as it does NOT disreguard any of the other rules.

In the months we can't or choose not to compete, we perform! This could be in the form of an open show through our open discord server or some sort of YouTube video like a dressage edit.
As it should go without saying, cheerios & students should be kind to everybody they come accross, including people outside of the club.
In addition to filming for dressage edits, club members can be filmed as the background in club information- or tip-type videos. We usually post on YouTube at least once a month, so we film at least once a month as well!

Once a month, sometime during the first week, we hold club meetings for the cheerios. During these, we discuss the upcoming calendar, announce things, and gather suggestions & feedback from all attendees. These are mandatory events that all members of RC are expected to attend.
The large majority of RC's, and some of RCS's, dressage forms are unique. No cheerio/student-- past or present-- should teach "outsiders" any of the unique dressage forms we use. Cheerio's are not allowed to teach any Students unique moves unless specific permission from Light.

If a cheerio leaves, they should message Light with a reason why.
If a student leaves they should message Light or Huntre with a reason why.
Full-Club Lessons are lessons that both cheerios and students attend. There are always two each month, separated by about two weeks. They're the students' first dressage experience with all the cheerios and a faster-paced environment, and a fun time for the cheerios to get to know them in the arena!

Appliations open once a month, generally on the 10th. They usually close on the 13th, and results are sent out on the 14th. These dates are subject to occasional change so keep up-to-date with specific changes in our open discord server.
During lessons (or when someone is talking in call), others should be muted. This also goes for announcements put through chat. Put simply: respect whoever is speaking and do not interrupt. You will have time to come off mute and speak.

Yes, those who have been rejected are welcome to re-apply, in fact we encouage it! You are welcome to apply as many times as you want, however there are a few restrictions:
-If you have been in the club once and been removed you may or may not be able to join again depending on the reason you were removed. If you have been in the club before and left on your own you will most likely be able to re-apply.
-It is advised that you do not re-apply twice within the same span of 2 months. For example, if you were rejected during April, we reccomend you re-apply at the soonest during June, though this is not necessarily a rule and won't always influence application results.
At the end of the day, no means no and stop means stop. Cheerios/Students are expected to listen to all ranks when asked to stop something (within reason). Once again, it boils down to respect.

On days when nothing special is planned, like blank days on the above calendar, it may be chosen to host a commanding lesson. During these, cheerios can volunteer to practice commanding the other attendees for 10-20 minutes with live advice and feedback from the host. Commanding can also be the focus of a requested lesson.
If cheerios get particularly good at commanding through these lessons, they may be able to become a certified commander for RCS to help host those lessons, and even become a high rank in the future!
There are technically no rules/systems on leaving except that we would like a reason, at the very least DMed to Light or a highrank. You can also write up something in #/goodbye of the RC(S) discord server if you wish. There is also a discord server for past cheerios/students which you may be added to if you ask.
If you have left and decide you want to return, there is a 1-2 week "decision period" in which you can return to the club without needing to re-apply. Just contact Light.
No. Rather than have a group of accepted applicants join us for a tryout event, we have them join our trial club RCS in which they learn our systems for dressage fundamentals, club rules, etc. A lack of tryouts is the main reason that our application is so long and thorough.
When new members join, they will be welcomed by the existing ones!

In the ofifical club, the 2nd Monday of every month (during the school year) is Cheerio Study Day. This is a day where cheerios can join a call together at lesson time, but instead of doing dressage, get a lesson credit for simply doing their homework, studies, chores, etc.
When coming to lessons, meetings, events, and other activities, cheerios should show up with their maxed friesian & club uniform-- unless told otherwise.

As an SSD registered club, RC hosts Club Clinics! Sometimes they'll be a true clinic, teaching or discussing dressage, commanding, management, technique, etc.; sometimes they'll be a normal lesson that spectators can attend and listen to.
We always welcome spectators at our daily lessons, but SSD Club Clinics can be a bit more involved and exciting! You'll see information on the SSD discord server for when they're hosted and how to attend.
Cheerios and students should be keeping up-to-date with the club calendars, schedules, plans, and the club Instagram posts to be sure they know about upcoming events, competitions, and such.
RC/MT are teams that cheerios can apply to and help with our routines or social media! These applications open every few months and are not available to students.
Routine Committee is a group that helps come up with ideas for, create, edit, and test routines for upcoming performanecs before the rest of the club. They contribute to things like the forms & segments we use, overall theme, background music, etc.!
Media Team is an umbrella team. Within it are positions such as photographer, Instagram helper, Website helper, YouTube helper, and the check-in team/moderator roles on our Open Server. Depending on the skills of the team members, they may just help come up with ideas or feedback for their team, or they may be more involved, providing/editing photos or videos, or taking on staff member responsibilities on our OS.

When voting ballots are put up for new cheerio nominations, new highranks, etc. cheerios should cast a vote/nomination. Cheerio input is important and crucial to a fair and well-functioning club.

The short answer is no. If you only have one and it's not one of the club coats you may use it until you can buy and train one of the club coats. Information on the club uniform can be found here.
If you are level 17 and at least 3/4 up the level you may still be considered, as we do make some exceptions for slightly lower levels when applications are of exceptional quality. As a general rule, though, you must be level 18+ to be considered, and if you make it into RCS before reaching level 18, you won't be able to graduate until you do.
If Light or a highrank is not able to get online to lead lessons, lessons should still be hosted by whoever is the highest rank online. They will be able to see that day's lesson plan in the #weekly-calendar channel. Cheerios should also be practicing dressage outside of scheduled lessons if necessary.

Sometimes, competitions require items that comply to a certain theme or color. All cheerios ranked trainee and above should be purchasing these extra items in preparation for competition so that they will have a matching uniform if they are called on to compete. In general, all cheerios should have a few hundred star coins saved up in case they need to buy a comp item or horse happiness at any time.

There is technically no time limit, however we ask that you do make it a priority. Logistically, the uniform costs around 600 starcoins if you are paying in sc only, so it should take up to 6 weeks. Chances are you already have many of the uniform items or can pay partially in jorvik shillings. Whatever the case, make it a priority to obtain ASAP.
All cheerios & students should make the effort to use the correct pronouns for all other cheerios/students.
No. The 1-3 month estimation is just that-- an estimation. Though rarely, we have had students who took longer than 1-3 months to graduate, and as RCS begins to fill up more, it may take a longer time to graduate. It is possible to be kicked out of RCS, yes, but not only on the premise of how long you have been in the club.
All cheerios & students should make the effort to use the correct pronouns for all other cheerios/students.
There are two ways to be kicked out of RCS: breaking rules, and a 'judgement' kick. There are a few different types of rules and ways to break them, as well as in-between punnishments. All of these variations, and the 'judgement' kick are explained below.
RULES
-Inactivity
The student is not making enough of an effort to show up to 3+ lessons each week and stay for at least 15 minutes, and they also do not have a valid excuse for their inactivity. The student would get 1-3 warnings and applicable punnishments depending on the severity before being kicked out.
-Causing/contributing to drama
RC(S) has a zero-tolerence drama policy. Should a student begin drama or contribute to it, they will recieve speedy and appropriate punnishment. Students can recieve up to 1 warning, and after a second incident, they will be kicked out.
-Disrespect
Students (and cheerios) are expected to be respectful of all of their fellow cheerios and students. If a student breaks the rules in ways regarding to swearing, consistently & purposefully not using correct pronouns, explicitly being disrespectful to another member, not listening to a highrank, or otherwise being disrespectful, they will recieve 1-3 warnings and applicable punnishments depending onthe severity before being kicked out.
Note that these same rules apply to RC, though members may be kicked out with even less warning should they break any of the club rules or become inactive.
'JUDGEMENT' KICK
After each month-long trial period, there may be students kicked out because we have judged throughout the month that they're not the right kind of person for the club. Judgement kicks do not happen often. This could generally be on the basis of personality/vibe, how dedicated you seem, etc. Students that are kicked on the basis of judgement may not have broken any rules or recieved any warnings, because they haven't done anything wrong-- they're kicked because we don't feel like they are or will be a part of the family. We normally filter out these people by rejecting their application, but there's always the possibility of them being accepted and still finding them to not be who we're looking for.
No to both. RCS is a vital part of the general Red Champions curicculum and it helps new members adjust to our specific style of dressage and club systems. Even cheerios who have been in the club previously must go through RCS in order to re-join. The reason it takes so long to graduate is so that we have a good idea as to if the students are ready to join, both mentally and in terms of dressage.
Not necessarily. We do notice and appreciate when applicants talk on our OS and watch lessons for sure, but unless application results were extremely difficult to choose between, it would most likely not affect anything. 95-99% of the decision to accept somebody based SOLEY on their application.
